Privacy

Short version

• Your images are processed only in your browser, on your device. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
• No account, no sign-up, no cookies and no email collection.
• No advertising and no affiliate links at the moment.

Your images

Your image is opened by your own browser and drawn on a canvas element on this page. The color values are read from that canvas with JavaScript on your device. There is no upload button that sends the file anywhere, and the site’s security policy blocks scripts from sending data to other servers. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded and the picker keeps working.

This applies to files you choose, photos you take, images you drag in and screenshots you paste. When you close or reload the page, the image is gone from the page. The Pick from screen button uses your browser’s own eyedropper; the browser only gives the page the single color you click.

What is stored on your device

The tool keeps up to 30 recently picked color codes and up to 20 palettes you choose to save in your browser’s local storage, so you can find them again. These are text codes only, never images. They stay on your device. Press Clear history in the tool, or clear this site’s data in your browser, to delete them.

What is processed

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not build profiles of visitors.

Changes

If advertising, for example Google AdSense, or an optional email list is added later, this page will be updated before that starts. Advertising may use cookies, and you will be asked for consent where the law requires it. Any email sign-up will always be optional.
